Student App bio:

Name:
Mandy Parker

Age/Birthday:
14, 8th of September  She had her birthday.

Height/Weight:
1.3 m, 25kg

Appearance: (Details details! hair colour/eye colour/styles of clothes/etc!)
Hair colour + Hair style: Mandy's hair is a really light blond, bordering on white, the tips of her hair and her fringe is a light brown.  Her hair goes down straight her back to just above her hips, she usually ties it when she flies into lose pig tails so they won't bother her wings.  Her fringe is rather long and comes over her eyes, hiding them sometimes.
Eye colour + face: Mandy's eyes are big and green, they stand out against her pale skin.  She's got freckles over her nose and on her cheeks.  Her nose is small on her face and her face has a heart shape to it.  Her mouth is also small compared to her eyes, her skin is really light due to the years she spent in the lab.  She burns easily in the sun but counters this by putting on really strong sunscreen and a cap when she knows she's going to be out in the sun for long.
Style of clothes : Mandy likes dressing up in clothes that are too big for her small frame.  She likes long sleeved shirts in any colour and she likes light coloured denim shorts.  She ties her shorts with a rope so it won't fall off.  She usually wears long socks that come up to her knees with sneakers since they're more practical for her.  She can sometimes be seen wearing a cap to protect her fair skin.
Build: Mandy is really tiny for her supposed age.  She's taller than she is wide like most birdkids.  She's thin as a twig but likes to eat a lot since like most birdkids her metabolism's really fast.  She has little to no curves and her clothes hang like bags on her.  She's really self-conscious about her knobby boney legs and arms but there's not much she can do about that, that's just part of her build and genetics.
Wings: Mandy's wings are a tanish brown with darker brown speckles on the primary feathers.  They're lighter on the insides and also fluffier there like most birds.  From tip to tip they're about 6.8 meters.  Her wings were designed for free movement in tight spaces so they're a bit more rounded and shorter, but this handicaps her in long flights, she can't go too high either since this tires her wings out.  That and she's still young and her wings haven't reached their full mutation yet.

Personality:
Mandy is a shy girl, she rarely talks to new people and when she does it's after she watched them for a bit and when she's sure she won't be shunned.  She tends to overthink and overreact to situations, when this happens she pulls back and becomes practically useless to a mission.  She's also a crier, she doesn't like crying but cries whenever she's scared and when someone's making it difficult for her.  She's scared of most mutants who have scary mutations like snake tails, fangs, claws and anything that could hurt her but she's not inclined to let that scare her off totally from a person, she'll still talk to them and watch them to see if she really should be scared.  She'd cling to whoever she sees as a friend and who might protect her.

Nationality: (Ex: Indian, Samoan, American, etc)
Namibian (she was born in the Namibian capitol of Windhoek, she was abandoned at an orphanage there by a teenage mother who couldn't look after her.  Not long after she was left there as a new born baby, a seemingly nice pair of Americans came and adopted her, taking her out of the country to America where they were revealed to be scientists, more about this in her back story)

Species: (their mutation in percentage, ex: 94% human, 6% horseshoe crab)
2% bird(Starling), 1% chameleon, 97% human

Tent:
Lepus

Powers: (Physical, super senses, etc. Be creative!)
  She can use energy like the invisible woman and make shields, but these shields aren't strong and drain her of energy, making her really tired after a while.
  She can turn herself invisible for short periods of time as long as she's experiencing enough emotional stress.  Whenever she's too nervous or too scared and would rather be somewhere else, she or her extremities turn invisible.  As soon as she realizes she's invisible and she calms down, she becomes visible again.  This doesn't drain her energy as much as her shields but they do tend to be hard to do when she wants it seeing as it's tied to her emotional state.
  She can extend her tongue much like a chameleon can.  She doesn't like doing this since it's not considered normal to stick your tongue out and grab bugs out of the air.

Background: (How did they get to where they are today?)
Mandy grew up in a lab much like Max and the others did.  She never knew about her parents or family and was just treated like a common experiment until the day she found out she could go invisible.  She got nervous after a whitecoat yelled at her and then they started to look really confused, she looked down at her hands and realized she wasn't there anymore.  The moment she relaxed at the thought of not being seen she was seen again and they stuffed her back in a cage.  Several days later an Eraser helped her out and she escaped that way and stayed out of their hands until finding this place.

Her story goes back to when her teenage mother in Windhoek, Namibia, found out she was pregnant with a child.  Some Americans came to her offering a solution, they told her that if she agreed to some experimentations they could speed the child's development up and make the 9 months more like 3 months.  Seeing as it's considered murder by some Christians and Mandy's mother was raised as one, this seemed perfect, they also promised her that no one would be able to notice she was pregnant because they could make the baby smaller, she'd just have to wear really big clothes to hide the baby bump that would still be there but less noticeable.  The experiments went on and Mandy's mother met with the Americans after school each day, no one realizing she was pregnant at the time.  The 3 month mark came but they convinced her that just one more month, the experiment went a bit slower than what they first anticipated.

After 4 and a half months Mandy was ready to come, the Americans weren't in the city at the time and the young mother was forced to consult her mother for help.  She was taken to the hospital where she gave birth to a seemingly normal and healthy baby girl named Mandy.  Mandy's mother was pressured into giving baby Mandy up for adoption and so she left the new born baby after a week in front of a local orphanage.  The Americans came back and Mandy's mother told them she gave the child up for adoption.  The Americans weren't too pleased with this but went to the orphanage and posed as a caring couple incapable of having their own children.  They asked for the little blond new born and after a few days they were able to adopt her and take her home.

The local authorities got word of some misconduct with the adoption and tried catching the Americans but they fled the country, heading back to America and where their lab was located.  Here they placed the little baby under more tests and experiments.  At around 2 months her wings started to grow, they did a few operations to help with the growth process ass the human body isn't really made for wings.  They were a success and a few years later Mandy was starting to learn and went through more experiments.  She got to know fellow experiments and grew and learned alongside them, each in their own cages.  She was always shy, her one and only friend simply known as Page(16) being her protector, her friend, her brother, her everything.  Mandy and Page spent most their time together until the day they took Page away to be sold to a rich Japanese drug dealer.  Mandy was left alone after 12 years, having known Page for most of that time.

Not long after Page's departure the scientists wanted to make some 'upgrades' to Mandy, no one showed an interest into buying her and her mutations weren't going anywhere so this was their last resort.  She got extremely nervous about this and then went invisible, when they tried to see why the cage she was in was empty she got out and escaped, as soon as she relaxed some she became visible and then her only hope was to fly and never look back.

She spent about a year outside wandering America before she heard Page might be in Australia, she somehow made her way onto a cargo ship bound for Australia and by sheer luck, she got there.  Having gotten to Australia Mandy was met with a new problem, she hardly knew where he could be, how to get food in this new place or how to survive.  She wandered around for a few weeks before finally stumbling upon a kind Dr Parker who agreed to help her find Page if she went to a camp for Mutants called Mutant-Refuge.  That's how she got to where she is now.

Interesting Facts:
When she's nervous she closes her eyes, pull her hands together and blush trying to get away.
She can't swim having never had most experiences normal kids had.
She's dyslexic and can't really read that well.  The whitecoats tried teaching her but she never could pick anything up from it.
She's ambidextrous, she can write, draw and do anything with both hands.

Classes: (Choose up to three)
Craft and arts, home ec, first aid

RP Paragraph:
Mandy stood in front of the main gate of the Refuge, the wooden sign swung in the light breeze and she tucked some of her blond hair behind her ear, she looked back towards the parking lot of the Refuge, Dr Parker was driving off, leaving her there to fend for herself.  She pulled her pants up and fixed her cap a bit then fixed the backpack the doctor had bought her onto her back and took a scared step towards the Fountain.  If she could survive here and Doctor Parker came through, she would see Page again and they could finally do what they've always wanted to do and she'd feel safe again.  She fixed a small smile onto her rose pink lips and made her way towards the middle of the camp, maybe someone could help her, she had no idea where she had to go or be.
I updated her application a bit, this version has more details about how she looks, acts and where she comes from.

I would really like to rp so just comment on this or send me a note and we can rp. I don't go on the chat since my parents have taken my laptop during the week. (I got today since my next examination is on Friday)

I used a character creator to make the little preview picture, it's not exactly how Mandy looks but i'm pretty happy with it for now. Feel free to draw her because i can't draw, i can barely hold a pencil the right way.

This is for :iconmutant-refuge:

I hope you don't mind i fixed her application.
